Nations League in November: England, France and the Fixtures to Follow

England against Croatia and Italy against France are among the fixtures opening novembre’s UEFA Nations League programme on 12 novembre. The final two league-phase rounds run across 12–17 novembre, bringing a concentrated block of international football after the club weekend.

UEFA’s schedule, updated on 6 novembre, separates Matchday 5 on 12–14 novembre from Matchday 6 on 15–17 novembre. Keeping those rounds apart makes the fixture list much easier to follow.

À retenir

  • Matchday 5 runs from 12 to 14 novembre.
  • Matchday 6 follows from 15 to 17 novembre.
  • The games belong to the Nations League; they are not a generic list of international friendlies.

Why the group label belongs beside the match

England, Spain, Croatia and Czechia share Group A3. France, Italy, Belgium and Türkiye are in A1. Those are separate tables, so a result in one group does not directly change the points in the other.

That sounds obvious until a busy evening produces several overlapping notifications. Keeping the group on screen helps you recognise which later game is relevant to a team you are following.

Two rounds can change the picture quickly

The short gap between the rounds makes the running order interesting. A team can finish one match with a provisional group position and face a different set of incentives in its next fixture. Read the table after the completed round rather than treating an earlier screenshot as the final situation.

My preference is to follow one group closely instead of trying to turn every international result into a single ranking of national teams. The league structure creates its own competitive context, which is different from a World Cup qualifying campaign.

Check the squad news separately

A published fixture does not confirm that a particular player will be available. National associations and the final match sheets are the relevant sources for squad changes. This guide does not add predicted line-ups or unverified injury updates to the confirmed schedule.

Use our upcoming football : calendrier to browse the wider programme and keep UEFA’s current competition page nearby for the official dates, groups and regulations.

What follows the league phase?

UEFA’s format guide says the League A group winners and runners-up progress to the quarter-finals. That gives the November matches a clear competition purpose, but specific qualification outcomes should be checked against the live group standings and the organiser’s rules.
